Alexander Lemos is the solo, bootstrapped founder of Mendy, built over a year of nights and weekends in Sydney. He built Mendy because he is, in his own words, too anxious to ring a plumber. He has strong views on what lead fees have done to the trades industry.
Mendy is a free app that scans a household problem, finds the safe fix, or rings local tradies for real quotes and books the one you pick. Tradies are listed from public registers and pay no lead fees. How Mendy works
How Mendy's guides are made
- Every rule, price and threshold comes from a named source, usually the government regulator, and the source is linked on the page.
- Every guide shows the date it was last checked, and we recheck them every three months.
- We use AI to help research and draft, and we say so on every guide. A person checks each fact against the source before anything is published.
- Mistakes get fixed. Email support@mendyai.app and the page is corrected and re-dated.
